Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery

C osmetic & reconstructive surgery is commonly used for both elective facial rejuvenation and to treat ailments around the eyes.

Surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments (often referred to as Med Spa treatments) can help patients not only look more youthful, but feel younger, as well. Reconstructive surgery is most commonly used for eyelid ptosis correction (treatment of droopy eyelids).

Pepose Vision provides treatment by a board certified facial plastic surgeon, utilizing the latest technologies, and offers an on-site surgery center for the convenience of our patients.

Cosmetic Surgery

Facial cosmetic surgery is designed to help patients look and feel more youthful. It most often includes the removal of fat, along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. This is called blepharoplasty – often referred to as an “eyelid lift” or “eyelid tuck” – and can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below the eyes. In addition to improving appearance, blepharoplasty can, in some cases, also enhance vision. This procedure is often provided in conjunction with other procedures such as a facelift or brow lift.

Other services we offer include brow lifting, rhinoplasty, facelift, neck lift and otoplasty or ear pinning procedures for prominent ears.

Pepose Vision offers the latest technologies and techniques in facial cosmetic surgery, including traditional surgical approaches and the use of lasers.  We have a surgical center on location for the convenience of our patients.

And for the safety of our patients, our board-certified plastic surgeons have a full team of highly-experienced ophthalmologists should assistance ever be needed.

We always provide our patients with compassionate and customized care.

Non-Surgical Cosmetic Treatments

Many patients of Pepose Vision Institute have realized the benefits of being treated with BOTOX® and other injectable fillers such as collagen, hyaluronic acid, or fat, all of which can help restore a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance .

botoxLogoBOTOX® has been used therapeutically for nearly 20 years to treat a variety of medical conditions. It is approved in more than 75 countries and remains the most-studied botulinum toxin and one of the most widely researched medicines in the world. In 2002, the same formulation – under the label BOTOX® Cosmetic – was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows of people ages 18 and up.

At Pepose Vision, we feel it is important for patients to receive these treatments from medically-trained professionals, knowing that will make it safer and more effective. Our experienced, certified eye surgeons have performed thousands of microsurgeries of the eye and the surrounding orbit. They know the exact placement of nerves and muscles around the eyes, and have administered topical injections in that area of the face for many years.

The surgeons at Pepose Vision will only offer these treatments to a patient if they are convinced that it is safe and will meet patient expectations. We are not afraid to say “no” to patients if they are not good candidates due to their health history or current health issues.

Reconstructive Surgery

Reconstructive surgery is most common for ptosis or eyelid reconstruction after trauma or tumor excision.

Ptosis is defined as drooping of the upper lid, partly covering the pupil. Ptosis causes a tired, sleepy appearance and reduces vision. Repair is intended to provide a more youthful, vibrant appearance as well as to improve your sight. Some patients also receive blepharoplasty at the same time to correct excess skin and fat in the upper lid.

In some instances, such as after traumatic injuries or removal of larger growths or skin cancers, larger defects may extend through the entire eye lid. Many of these can be sutured together directly, but many others may require more complex reconstructions. In many of these more complex cases, we will need to transfer adjacent tissues (what we call ”flaps”), or transfer skin from other parts of the eyelid face or body (what we call “skin grafts”) to complete the reconstruction. Some of these more complex reconstructions may require more than one operation to complete (what we call “staged reconstruction”).

We also provide a variety of other procedures, including MOHS reconstructions, skin lesion removal and reconstruction and more.

Pepose Vision is highly qualified to provide advanced reconstructive surgery, supported by a highly-qualified and compassionate staff at a surgery center located on-site.
