Tecnis Symfony® Intraocular Lenses - Pepose Vision Institute

Tecnis Symfony® Intraocular Lenses

The Tecnis Symfony® Intraocular Lenses is the first in a new category of intraocular lenses (IOLs) for the treatment of cataracts. The Symfony lenses are the only lenses in the United States that provide a full range of continuous high-quality vision following cataract surgery, while also mitigating the effects of presbyopia by helping people focus on near objects. As a result, patients treated for cataracts not only have clearer vision, but improved vision at a range of distances, often reducing or eliminating the need for glasses.

The Tecnis Symfony provides a full range of continuous high-quality vision following cataract surgery

When a person is diagnosed with cataracts, the treatment is to remove and replace the clouded lens with an intraocular lens or IOL. Advancements have led to new lenses that not only remove the cloudiness from cataracts, but actually help improve vision. This includes multi focal lenses that provide vision correction across multiple distances.

The Tecnis Symfony marks the arrival of a new category of IOLs in the United States: extended depth of focus lenses. The Symfony lens enhances near and intermediate vision without hurting distance vision or inducing as many issues with glare and halo as has often been experienced with multifocal IOLs.
