A Mission with a Vision: Pepose Vision Institute in Haiti
Dr. Holekamp, our Director of Retinal Services, with the support of our foundation Lifelong Vision Foundation and other local organizations and churches, recently went to Haiti to perform eye exams and provide eyeglasses.

Dr Pepose was named to the Premier Surgeon 300, is a list of premium refractive cataract surgeons compiled by the editors and publisher of the influential Ocular Surgery News. He is identified as a leading innovator in the field of refractive cataract surgery and is one of only three surgeons selected in St. Louis.


Dr. Pepose just returned from the 14th Annual ISOPT Clinical (The International Symposium on Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics) in Tel Aviv, Israel where he was interviewed about his recent study of topical lifitegrast in patients with dry eye disease.

Lifelong Vision Foundation received a generous $1 million grant from Bausch & Lomb to coordinate an 18-month clinical trial to evaluate a drug to treat pink eye. Here’s more.

Cataract surgery is taking another step forward with a new type of lens implant that corrects for distance, intermediate and near vision, as well as for astigmatism—a condition in which vision is blurred due to an elliptical or football-shaped cornea. By correcting both range of focus and astigmatism, patients may be free of glasses or contacts for the first time in decades. Here’s more.

At the ASCRS – American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery – Dr. Pepose discussed the exciting positive results with the Trulign Toric IOL. This is great news for patients with cataracts and astigmatism at the same time.
